Chris Marquis, LL.B
Barrister & Solicitor
Chris received his Law Degree at the University of Leicester, UK, where he represented the University in legal competitions on the national and international level.
Graduating with Honours, Chris returned to Canada, and spent 3 years at the London Courthouse serving as a Court Clerk and Assistant Trial Coordinator. It was there that he immersed himself in the world of criminal law and recognized that JDL was exactly the type of professional, effective, and personable firm that he wanted to be a part of and learn from.

Victoria Heppenheimer, J.D.
Barrister & Solicitor
Victoria was born and raised in London, Ontario. She received her Bachelor of Arts Honours Degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice from Carleton University, graduating on the Dean’s Honour’s List.
She then volunteered with the John Howard Society’s Bail Supervision Program before attending the University of Ottawa where she received her Juris Doctor law degree, graduating Cum Laude. During her studies, Victoria was Vice President of the Criminal Law Student’s Association, completed a student internship with the Ministry of the Attorney General at the Ottawa Crown Attorney’s Office and she volunteered for Pro Bono Students Canada.
Victoria is a dedicated member of the JDL team committed to advocating for those involved in the criminal justice system.

Tammy Courage,
Senior Law Clerk
Tammy is the Senior Law Clerk at JDL. Tammy graduated from the Law Clerk Specialist Program, with Distinction, in 2019. She has been with JDL ever since. Tammy is a caring, nurturing member of our team. She treats our clients with the respect they deserve and goes above and beyond in trying to help them where she can.
